At Clean maneuvering speed - Set max con thrust - maintain clean man speed until terrain clearance is ensured - Call for required checklist

Day Visual

  • Immediately take positive corrective action util warning ceases and/or terrain clearance is assured
  • Advise ATC of any clearance deviations

Night or IMC

  • Disconnect AP and AT
  • Apply Max Thrust
  • Simultaneously roll wings level - pitch to 20*
  • Retract speedbrakes
  • Do not change config until terrain separation is assured
  • Monitor RA
  • When terrain is cleared decrease pitch

If warning continues
-Increase pitch to shaker

Windshear escape maneuver

PF/PM - Retract speed brakes

  • Altimeter and IVSI to indicate level flight or a climb

  • Aural, visual warnings cease (stick shaker, windshear warnings)

-Do not change flap, gear, or trim position until windshear is no longer a factor
