Emergency Descent
A
- PF - advise cabin “Attention cabin crew, emergency descent”
PNF - advise ATC and obtain QNH - Passenger signs …………………………ON
- Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 10000 feet,
whichever is higher - ENGINE START switches (both)…………CONT
- Thrust levers (both)…………………..reduce thrust to minimum or as needed for
anti-ice - Speedbrake…………………FLIGHT DETENT
- Set target speed to Mmo/Vmo

ENGINE FIRE or Engine Severe Damage or Separation
A
- Autothrottle (if engaged)………………………………..Disengage
- Thrust lever (affected engine)………..Confirm………….Close
- Engine start lever (affected eng)………Confirm…………..CUTOFF
- Engine fire switches (affected eng)…..Confirm…………Pull
to manually unlock the engine fire switch, press override and pull - If the engine fire switch or ENG OVERHEAT light is illuminated
Engine Fire switch………rotate to stop and hold for 1 second
If after 30 second the engine fire switch or OVERHEAT lights stays illuminated
Engine fire switch …….. rotate to other stop and hold for 1 second

Loss of thrust on both engines
A
- ENGINE START switches (both)………………….FLT
- Engine start levers (both) ……………………..CUTOFF
- When EGT decreases
Engine start levers (both) ……………………..IDLE detent - If EGT reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 seconds
Engine start lever (affected engine)…..Confirm…..CUTOFF then IDLE detent
If EGT again reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 seconds, repeat as needed.

Runaway Stabiliser
A
- Control Column………………………..Hold firmly
- Autopilot (if engaged)………………Disengage
- Autothrottle (if engaged)…………… Disengage
- Control column and thrust levers………control pitch, attitude and airspeed
- Main electric stabiliser trim………reduce control column forces
- If the runaway stops after the autopilot is Disengaged…do not re-engage autopilot and autothrottle
+++++++ - If the runaway continues after the autopilot is Disengaged
STAB TRIM CUTOUT switches (both) ………..CUTOUT
If the runaway continues
Stabiliser trim wheel……………Grasp and hold
