7.3.1- aadon Flashcards
Atmosphere
the envelope of gases surrounding the earth or another planet
Altitude
the height of an object or point in relation to sea level or ground level.
Density
the degree of compactness of a substance.
Troposphere
the lowest region of the atmosphere, extending from the earth’s surface to a height of about 3.7–6.2 miles (6–10 km), which is the lower boundary of the stratosphere.
Stratosphere
the layer of the earth’s atmosphere above the troposphere
Thermosphere
the region of the atmosphere above the mesosphere and below the height at which the atmosphere ceases to have the properties of a continuous medium.
Temperature
the degree or intensity of heat present in a substance or object, especially as expressed according to a comparative scale and shown by a thermometer or perceived by touch.
Nitrogen
the chemical element of atomic number 7, a colorless, odorless unreactive gas
Carbon Dioxide
a colorless, odorless gas produced by burning carbon and organic compounds and by respiration. It is naturally present in air
Oxygen
a colorless, odorless reactive gas, the chemical element of atomic number 8 and the life-supporting component of the air.
altitude
the height of an object or point in relation to sea level or ground level.
air pressure
the force exerted on a surface by the air above it as gravity pulls it to Earth.May 19, 2022
concentration
the action or power of focusing one’s attention or mental effort.
