What does ‘abiotic’ mean?
The non-living parts of an environment
What does ‘biotic’ mean?
The ling parts of an environment
What does ‘species’ mean?
Organisms that look similar and that can breed to produce fertile offspring
What does ‘population’ mean?
All the members of a species living together i the same place at the same time
What does ‘community’ mean?
A group of different species that live in the same place at the same time
What does ‘ecosystem’ mean?
A community of organisms and abiotic factors of a given area
What does ‘environment’ mean?
The conditions that surround an organism (including biotic and abiotic factors)
What does ‘habitat’ mean?
The location where an organism lives
What does ‘niche’ mean?
The role a species has in its environment, governed by adaptation to a/biotic conditions (how it meets its needs for food and shelter, how it survives, how it reproduces)
