Keeler teller cards - black and white gratings - look which side they peek through.
The black and white gratinngs – poor resoltuion = cannot see the stripes
Where to hold them at?
55cm - the size of the card
How to use hundreds and thousands?
33cm = 6/30
25cm = 6/150
Px at 9 months = intrested
12 months - may pick them up
How to assess a px who is 1-3 years old?
Cardiff cards can be used.
VAnishing optotypes –> they gradually blend into the background
what is resolution?
this si the smallest angle seperation between two points - preferential looking
what is recognition?
This si identifiying form / orientation –? more senstive to pathology
What is optokinetic nystagmus?
combination or smooth / saccadic eye moevemnts which devlop at around 6 months time —> using a drum will allow us to see if these are intact
How many phases are in OKN?
Slow Phase - slwo movmeent sot track moving objects t keep it on the fovea
Fast Phase - once the object has moved out of central feild - it will snap back to the continue trackinng movements
