What physiological indicators are there?

A
  • heart rate
  • reflects the activity of the ANS. HR can increase due to pain, happiness, pleasure, fear
  • a baseline must be determined first before trying to use it as an indicator

A

As an animal starts to get older, it decreases time spent to the mother- they have to learn to adapt and survive on their own

A

A time in life when a small amount/lack of experience will have a large effect on later behaviour

Dogs:

  • Neonatal (1-2 weeks)
  • Transition (3 weeks)
