Human Resource Development
A set of planned activities designed by an organisation to provide its members with the opportunities to learn necessary skills to meet current and future job demands
Human Resource Planning
Process of estimating future labour demands and supply in order to manage an organisation’s human Resource requirement in both quantitative and qualitative terms
Talent retention
A critical HR strategy to retain the required skilled employees within the organisation. This retention is important for not only keeping employee costs down, but also for ensuring the organisation is equipped to deal with current and future challenges
Training
refers to specific, generally short-term methods to transfer knowledge and skills. Can be formal or informal
Development
Is usually a longer-term process focused on the acquisition of more complex and deeper competencies
Training needs analysis
A process by which the gap between the skills and/or competencies required for the job and those possessed by the employee are identified
