Describe emotionally unstable personality disorder.
These people have trouble with their emotions and often get periods of depression, similar to the DSM classification of “borderline” These are people who lack impulse control and don’t consider others. They have commonly self harmed and/or considered suicide.
Describe histrionic personality disorder.
Theatrical, feel the need to be the centre of attention. They are thrill seekers who are suggestible and can be inappropriately seductive or flirtatious. They are highly concerned with their appearance and this disorder is related to the DSM classification of narcissistic.
What criteria have to be fulfilled for a personality oddity to be considered a personality disorder?
- Persistent - starts in childhood and goes right through to adulthood
- Pervasive - inflexible responses

Describe paranoid personality disorder.
These patients are suspicious and combative who think a lot of themselves. Conspiracy theorists who are sensitive to real/perceived rebuffs and bears grudges. They think people are against them and often think their partner is cheating.
Describe schizoid personality disorder.
These patients are cold and lead solitary, fantasy lives. When you see them they have low affect and are not keen on praise or criticism. They have little interest in sex, relationships or other people.
Describe dissocial personality disorder.
Callous patients with a lack of concern for others low frustration tolerance and they can be aggressive. These patients, while irresponsible, can be very charming.
Describe anxious personality disorder.
These people are socially inept and avoid social activities as they fear criticism or rejection. They feel inferior to others due to their own personal view of themselves.
Describe dependent personality disorder.
They need others to make important decisions for them, they have a fear of abandonment and need excessive reassurance. They won’t make demands of others and will go out of the way to help others.
Describe anakastic personality disorder.
These people are perfectionists, who like lists and rules. They are pedantic and stubborn when it comes to organising things.
