7) Loading Flashcards
If EFB Weight & Balance module is not available, how do we obtain W&B data?
Contact OCC and they will provide
Cargo Loading Policy. Can you derive from it ?
Yes, if there are valid operational reasons for doing so
What is the Standard A319 loading policy with regards to the use of compartments (Cpt’s)?
- Up to 150 bags into the rear hold (max 50 bags in Cpt 5) - In general maximize use of Cpt 4 where possible - Overspill bagage should be loaded in Cpt 1 - If 100 bags, first fill Cpt 5 but with “First 30 bags” or “First 40 bags” recommended i.s.o. putting 50 into Cpt 5 straight away
What is the Standard A320 loading/unloading policy with regards to ground stability? When is the need expected to deviate from this?
Forward cargo hold should be loaded BEFORE the aft cargo hold. When Unloading, first unload aft cargo hold before unloading forward cargo hold * Very high bagage loads and/or * Ski flights and/or * Where cargo is carried
What is the standard A320 loading policy with regards to the use of compartments (Cpt’s)?
- Load compartment 1 (+/- 85 bags) - Remaining bagage loaded in Cpt 4 (additional Cpt 3 can be used for high bagage loads) - There should be NO planned use for Cpt 5
What is the A320 loading policy for flight operating close to MTOW?
- +/- 30 bags should be loaded in Cpt 1 (may be increased if Cpt’s 3&4 are full) - Remainder loaded in Cpt 3&4 This is done to stay within the trim envelope
What is the A320 loading policy for low bagage loads?
If 115, the procedure may still be applied
A320 Ground Stability v.s. passenger loading. What are the passenger loading sequence considerations? What indication on the flight deck may indicate an unstable situation?
- If disembarkation is only possible via the rear door, ground crew should liaise with crew in order to prevent sudden movement of passenger numbers to the back. - If boarding via the rear door ONLY is required, the flow of pax must be regulated until sufficient pax have occupied the front part of the aircraft ECAM: L/G SHOCK ABSORBER FAUL
When does a new Loading From and Certificate (dispatcher green/pink form) have to be made in case of LMC?
+10 pax or -20 pax
What is the restriction for a POSITIVE LMC?
The positive LMC < UNDER LOAD PRIOR LMC
If LMC is negative what should be considered?
If LMC is negative AND TOW/CG > 2%, TO PERF data has to be recalculated
If LMC is positive, what should be your considerations?
- Total LMC must not be > than UNDERLOAD prior LMC
- If LMC + but <250kg AND TOW/CG <2%: FLEX temp -1°C
(incase <flat rate temp isa>

redo T/O PERF)

If LMC + but >250kg OR TOGA planned ORTOW/CG is >2%, T/O PERF has to be recalculated with revised TOW

In all cases, revised ZFW has to be recorded on LF&C

</flat>
What is the Free Seating Contingency procedure and when is it to be used?
- The cabin crew MUST perform headcount specified by zone, spcifiying the seating position of possible communters
- The Flight Crew Should use the LFC and correct the Bay allocation using the information from the cabin crew ensuring weight and balance/loading limitations are complied with
- The CM1 MUST make a brief PA to explain why the flight is not using allocated seating
