How are febrile seizures managed?

A

First, classify into simple and complex
Simple: one occurrence in 24hr, less than 15min in length, generalized
Complex: anything other than simple

Simple requires acetaminophen and discharge
Complex requires neuroimaging and AED treatment

Both types are aborted with benzos if needed
