Advantage 3 (2 marks)
3 from, 2 marks each:
The pace can be controlled (1) the speaker can take as long as they want on each slide (1)
An action from the speaker/the presenter has to interact with the presentation (1) to move onto next/previous slide or skip slide (1 )
Can allow audience participation (1) presentation does not progress until presenter advances (1) enables questions/discussions with audience (1)
Describe how the presentation can be reformatted to be used with a touch screen in the aeroplane.(4 marks)
4 from:
Timings/automatic transition need to be removed (1)
Method of manually moving from slide to slide added (1) hotspot / button (1)
Size need to be considered (1) may need to change font /image size (1)
Different resolution/presentation page size (1)

(d) Describe how a presentation, made to be used as a standalone presentation with no user intervention, can be changed to work as a touch screen presentation(4 marks)
2 from, 2 marks each eg:
Addition of buttons/hotspots (1) to allow the viewer to control the navigation (1) eg. return to main menu (1) Removal of any timings from the slides (1) viewer to change to next slide when finished (1)

(b) Compare the use of automatic and manual transition in the presentation for the County Show.(3 marks)
Comparisons on points may be:
Automatic transition is timed and the speaker needs to keep to a script and
not deviate whereas with manual they can deviate from the point and
answer questions changing the slide when they are ready
Manual transition can be non linear allowing different pathways through
the presentation whereas automatic only has one route through
Automatic needs no interaction from the user whereas manual needs
someone to press a button to advance it
Automatic can be put high/out of the way manual needs equipment within reach (3)
EJO has produced a slideshow advertising the gallery. The slideshow will be displayed in a local tourist centre.
(a) Compare the use of automatic and manual transition in the slideshow(4 marks)
4 Two complete comparisons.
3 One complete comparison and one individual point 2 One complete comparison OR
Two individual points about either side 1 One individual point about either side.
Points may include:
Timings: automatic will move from slide to slide after a specific time,
manual will change when the presenter chooses.
Linear: automatic goes through the slides in a sequence, manual can go
backwards and forwards as required
Location: automatic can be out of the way – may be positioned high up,
manual has to be within reach or line of signal
