What causes gestational diabetes?
Insulin resistance
How can pre eclampsia be treated?
Delivery
Can give a low dose of aspirin from 12 weeks to prevent
What consequences are associated with gestational diabetes?
Macrosomia
Stillbirth
Neonatal hypoglycaemia
Name some high risk factors for pre eclampsia
Hypertension in previous pregnancy Chronic kidney disease Autoimmune disease eg systemic lupus Antiphospholipid syndrome Type 1 or 2 diabetes Chronic hypertension

First pregnancy Aged 40 or over Pregnancy interval greater than 10 years BMI >35 Family history Multiple pregnancy
