Unoccupied Play (Birth to 3 months)
The child plays alone; not interested in playing with others
Solitary Play (Birth to 2 years old)
The child watches other children play but does not play with them
Onlooker/Spectator Behavior (2 years old)
The child plays alongside or near others but does not play with them
Parallel Play (2 years +)
Child starts to interact; not large amount of interaction (doing activity related to the kids around him)
Associate Play (3-4 years old)
Child plays together with others, has interest in both the activity and other children
Cooperative Play (4 +)
