Slavic expansion would be put on hold due to the Mongol rule.

Genghis Khan
What happened in the mid 1400s?
Old centers reopened when the Mongol rule ended. Some examples of these urban centers include Muscovy (Moscow) and St. Petersburg.
Who rose to power as groups began to expand again?
Czars, or Russian emperors
What began happening to Russia in the 1800s?
Russia began developing as a global power.

What ended up happening to Russia for the rest of the 1800s?
Russia would try to rebuild after the invasion of Napoleon Bonaparte. Tsars/Czars still ruled the empire in this time period.
What happened during the Russian Revolution?
Russians grew tired of fighting World War One, and felt the government was not tending to their own needs. During the midst of the war, revolutionaries overthrew the Tsar and later executed him.

Vladimir Lenin and the Bolshevik party
What did Vladimir Lenin believe about communism?
It was the only route to placing all people on the same playing field politically and economically.
