Define self efficacy

State confidence

Briefly explain Vealey’s model of sports confidence
The interaction of trait confidence, state confidence, the situation and the performers competitive orientation influence confidence.
Past success = high trait and state confidence
The objective sporting situation accounts for the situation in which the task is undertaken
The skill is then evaluated by the performer this is called the subjective outcome
If positive it increases trait and state confidence and competitive orientation.
Define competitive orientation
The degree to which a performer is drawn to challenging situations
