5) The Tools Flashcards
What is the literal translation of ‘Kung Fu’?
Skill achieved through hard work and discipline.
What is Tool 1 - Take Aim?
Having a big goal/dream and writing it down, then energising it.
Energising = believe it is happening right now.
What is Tool 2 - Take Action?
Do all that I can do to mine into the direction of my goals, even if it means taking some extra measures.
Action is a high road to self confidence. Pick myself back up and begin again.
What does pessimism do?
If I think something is impossible, I make it impossible.
Pessimism blunts the tools I need to succeed.
What is Tool 3 - Affirm?
Constantly repeat powerful sayings that I want to ingrain in myself.
What 2 ways can I use to reframe an affirmation to allow me to feel and access the power of affirmations?
i-am-not-strong-and-fit…. YET!
I AM CONSTANTLY WORKING TO BECOME…. stronger-and-fitter
What is Tool 4 - Be Symbolic?
Find meaning in events, a message from God.
At pivotal moments of my life, create symbols to act as concrete reminders of my growth and my new perspectives.
What is Tool 5 - Journal?
We strengthen what we put attention on. Writing is excellent for this
Journal lessons learned, future plans, ideas, etc.
Burn or shred negative rage. Do not keep my mind there by revisiting it.
Why did Bruce never write negative things in his journal?
He did write about things that bothered him, but in a way that it came out as a key realisation.
What is Tool 6 - Get Physical?
Keeping the instrument of my spiritual growth strong.
Physical practise helps to get to know myself better.
Experience what it is to practise discomfort, calculated suffering, and learn to be okay with it.
Remember that goals are not the be-all and end-all. Why?
When fixated on goals, we often miss the journey entirely.
It’s like chewing my food but worrying about the next bite. Being so anxious of what’s next makes one miss the entire meal.
When are goals incredibly useful?
When I am present and fluid with them. Enjoy the process and move toward them.
What is it meant by “I am means.”
I am the process. Life is a process, not a goal. A means, but not an end. Life is a constant movement.
