Steps in Counterstrain

A
  1. Find the most significant TP
  2. Establish a pain scale
  3. Monitor the point for tenderness and tissue texture changes
  4. Place the pt passively in a position that results in the greatest ⬇︎ in tenderness and tissue texture changes.
  5. Maintain for 90 seconds
  6. Slowly return to neutral
  7. Reassess
