A
Compulsions - repetitive behaviour (like hand washing) that are usually done to reduce anxiety
Avoidance- staying away from situations that might trigger their anxiety

Anxiety and distress caused by obsessions and compulsions

Cognitive characteristics
A
Obsessive thoughts - reoccurring thoughts. For example thoughts about being contaminated by dirt and germs that you can’t get rid of.
Knowing that their obsessions and compulsions aren’t rational
