Q

Effective collision

A

A collision between reactant particles, with the activation energy or more, that results in a chemical reaction.

Enzymes need the correct temperature for an effective collision to occur.

The higher the temperature the higher the energy of the enzyme. Thus the higher the frequency of effective collisions. However if the temperatue becomes to high it will deform the enzyme, making it Denatured.

The point at which enzyme activity is the highest is called the optimum temperature. In humans that temperature is a 37C.
