5) Current Electricity Flashcards
How is the voltage distributed in a series circuit?
It is shared out equally among every component
What is a series circuit better for compared to a parallel circuit?
They are good at power low power things
How is the voltage distributed in a parallel circuit?
Each component gets a different amount
What is a parralel circuit better for compared to a series circuit?
They are good at power high power things as each component recieves the full voltage
What is the current like in a series circuit?
They are the same throughout a series circuit
What does decreasing the resistance do?
It increases the current
What does increasing the resistance do?
It decreases the current
What does the brightness of a light displayed on a LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) show?
The brighter the light, the less resistance there is in the circuit and vice versa
What does the temperature of a thermistor show?
The hotter the condition, the less resistance there is in the circuit and vice verse
What does it mean if a LED does not light up in a circuit?
It means there is no current flowing
What is current?
Current is a rate at which charge is flowing through a circuit
What do electrons carry?
They carry negative charge
What do electrons repel from?
The negative terminal in a circuit
What are electrons attracted to?
The positive terminal in a circuit
In what way do electrons flow in a circuit?
From negative to positive
