Describe AMC overview:
- 2 x AMCs located in nose (AMC1 (RHS), AMC2 (LHS) - AMC2 is Master)
- Each AMC has 2 Channels (1 & 2), with 5 x partitions per Channel
- Partitions are:
- MAIN: HELIONIX config; Status and mode management
- CIRM: Flt Data (FD) Rec.; FD Cont. Rec.; Maint. Data storage; Failure Mgmt
- VMS: Veh. & Eng signal acq. and comps.; Alerting Function.; Clearance Tests
- AFCS: AFCS processing; Air Data and AHRS monitoring
- MEM: Memory
How are the AMCs powered?
AMC1: powered directly from ESS2 and NO SHED2
AMC2: powered through a Common Relay Box from EMERG1 and NO SHED 1
Common Relay Box:
- contains 2 x power switches
- power switches can be switched off by SHOCK SENSORS (1&2)
- SHOCK SENSORS respond to impacts, such as bird strikes
What are the functions of the VMS partition?
- Vehicle and Engine Management VMS/UMS
- Ctrls/Monitors systs inc. Eng, Hyd, Elec, Fuel, LG, Air Con, Xmsn, Fg Ctrl posn, Fire, Ice, etc - Clearance Tests
- Monitors 4 TESTS prior to take off
- Barriers to catch system failures prior to take off - Alerting
What are the 4 ‘TESTS’ prior to Take Off, how are they each initiated, and what do they check?
PWR-UP TST: Automatic When batteries are switched on Most systems
P-START TST: Manual When HYD AUX PUMP is TEST Hydraulics
START-UP TST: Automatic When the 1st engine is started Hydraulic/Fuel/Elec/Nr/ECS-Eng
P-FLT TST: Manual. When P-FLT TEST sw. is activated AFCS/RadAlts/Ext. avionics to MFDs
