Name of EC175 IADS?
Helionix
Components of Helionix?
4 x Multifunction Displays (MFDs)
2 x Aircraft Management Computers (AMCs)
1 x Data Transfer Device (DTD)
Functions of Helionix?
- Flight Management and Control
- Navigation Management
- Vehicle and Engine Management
- Mission Management
- Alerting Management
- Integrated Automatic Flying Control System (AFCS)
- Automatic Reconfiguration
- Maintenance Data Centralisation
MFD Overview?
- 4 x screens
- Physically identical and interchangeable
- Also process information as part of the Helionix system
- Numbered (L-R): 1, 3, 4, 2
- On power-up, 1 & 2 display Flight Navigation Display (FND), 3 & 4 display VMS
- 3 & 4 are selectable by crew
MFD Architecture?
- All 4 MFDs receive inputs from both AMCs and radio COM and NAV sensors
- All 4 MFDs exchange data with AMCs via ARINC 429
- AMCs compare data with each other via ARINC 429
- MFDs exchange data with NAV/COM/Mission sensors via digital, discrete and analogue signals
- Landing Gear Ancillary Unit (LGAU) sends grd/flt logic info to MFDs
- Maintenance Control Panel (MCP) located vertically, LHS of floor console, aft end.
Describe MFD power architecture:
MFD1. MFD3. MFD4. MFD2.
ESS1. ESS2. ESS1. EMERG2. NO-SHED2. FLT SHED1. NO SHED1. SHED2.
- MFDs are dual-powered
- MFD2 is most resilient; MFD3 is least resilient
What are the MFD Primary feeds regarding air data?
MFD1. MFD3. | MFD4. MFD2.
|
ATT1. ATT1. | ATT2. ATT2.
AIR1. AIR1. | AIR2. AIR2.
HDG1. HDG1. | HDG2. HDG2.
RA1. RA1. | RA2. RA2.
FMS2. FMS2. | FMS2. FMS2.
- If source fails, affected side shows reconfig’d status (actual in column, ‘should’ between)
- FMS usually synch’d so only FMS2 displayed.
