AVPU -Meaning

A

ALERT – patients are fully awake (eyes
spontaneously open, can follow commands etc.)
VOICE – the patient responds to a verbal stimulus
PAIN – the patient only responds upon application
of a pain stimulus.
UNRESPONSIVE – the patient is completely
unresponsive.
