Latissimus Dorsi
What muscles are the triangle of auscultation muscles?
Superior border of latissimus dorsi
medial border of the lower trapizus
Inferior border of the rhomboids
What innervates the trapezius muscle?
Spinal accessory nerve
C3 and C4 spinal nerves
What innervates the Latissimus Dorsi muscle?
Thoracodorsal nerve (C6,C7,C8)
“Lats are great” 6, 7, 8
What innervates the levator scapulae muscle?
Dorsal scapular(C5) and cervical (C3,C4) spinal nerves
What innervates the rhomboid muscle?
Dorsal scapular nerve (C4, C5)
What is the medial attachment of the trapezius?
Medial third of superior nuchal line, external occipital protuberance, nuchal ligament, spinous process of C7-T12 vertebrae.
What is the lateral attachment of the Trapezius?
Lateral third of clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula.
What is the medial attachment of the latissimus dorsi?
Spinous process of inferior six thoracic vertebrae, thoracolumbar fascia, illiac crest, and inferior three or four ribs.
What is the lateral attachment of the latissimus dorsi?
Floor of intertubercular sulcus(groove) of humerus
What is the medial attachment of the Levator scapulae?
Posterior tubercles of transverse processes of C1-C4 vertebrae
What is the lateral attachment of the Levator Scapulae?
Medial border of scapula superior to root of spine
What is the medial attachment of the rhomboid minor?
nuchal ligament; spinous processes of C7- T1 vertebrae
What is the medial attachment of the Rhomboid Major?
Spinous process of T2-T5 vertebrae
