4th quarter exam (3 I's) Flashcards
Involves researching a topic, formulating a working theory (hypothesis), can be tested, conducting experiment, and recording and reporting the results
Investigatory Project
The problem should be relevant and novel. Do a literature search to broad area to know more about the topic
Come up with research question
knowing your topic helps in making IP. Unbiased and credible
Research your topic
well-developed articles with numerous footnotes will improve the odds of acceptance. Narrow down research question to a predicted outcome which you need to test.
Frame the hypothesis
You identify the requirements (methods, materials, and subjects as needed) then conduct the experiment. Consideration of variables is key in setting up your experiment
Design your experiment
Closely follow the steps that you have planned to test your experiment
Conduct your experiment
Sometimes your data may be best recorded as graph, chart, or just a journal entry. Record the data, that is easy to review and analyze
Record and analyze the result
Clearly and accurately state your findings. In essence, you are now answering the questions you originally asked.
