In good sentences, describe the Stamp Act.
All newspapers, marriage certificates, and other documents bought by the colonists had to have a seal or stamp on them. Each stamp or seal was a tax the colonists had to pay.
Describe the Declaration of Independence in good sentences.
This document clearly stated for the world the reasons why the American colonists wanted their independence. It was signed on July 4, 1776. Riders rushed copies to each of the thirteen colonies. In Philadelphia, the Liberty Bell was run to call the people together.
Describe the Boston Tea Party in good sentences.
British taxes had all been removed except the tax on tea. In Boston, colonists (dressed as Indians) boarded British ships and dumped the tea into the harbor to protest the tax on tea.
