A

Their infinitives end in ‘-ire’
e.g. venire - to come

A
  • remove the -ire from the infinitive to form a stem.
    e. g venire (to come); stem = ven
  • add the appropriate ending for the person.
    e. g. for the 1st person singular (I), add -IO; venio (I come)
