Two thesis for the evolution of intelligence in humans
1) ECological Intelligence Hypothesis - intelligence involves as animals adapt to find food. more intelligence needed to determine fruit eatability vs. leaves.
2) Social Intelligence Hypothesis - smarter animals cooperate and learn from other members of the same species
Smart animals have big brain to body ratios, live for a long time, and have detailed social connections.
Why are octopi different than other intelligent animals?
Although they have a big brain to body ratio, they die young and do not have intricate social relationships.

Index fund is a type of mutual fund with a portfolio constructed to match a stock index like the S&P 500.
