4.5 Solution Stoichiometry Flashcards

Q

M * V(in L) = n
* M = molarity
* V = volume in L
* n = moles

This is derieved from the molarity

molarity = mol solute/ volume solution (in L)
* This is what the above equation is derieved from

So this is pivital because its a new way to calcuate moles

an example below

Q

What volume of 0.10 H2SO4 is required to neutralize 0.50L of 0.40M NaOH

H2SO4 + 2NaOH –> 2H2O + Na2SO4

Another way to do it (used M to find L)

A

All the equations used are derieved from molarity = moles of solute / Volume (L) of solution
