Q

How do we hear sound?

A

Sound enters our outer ear (pinna), travels through the ear canal and vibrates the eardrum. These vibrations are passed on to the ear bones (ossicles) which relay the energy to the cochlea. Vibrations within the cochlea send an electrical signal through the auditory nerve to the brain.
