To promote our national interest by contributing to sustainable economic growth + poverty reduction. DFAT does this by:

Australian aid increased access to quality education for Samoan children by allowing school fees to be phased out at all gov-funded primary schools.
Southeast Asia
Tackle some of the most pressing regional priorities (climate change + the clean energy transition, gender equality, rapid digitalisation, etc).

Working to improve the nutrition status + food security of vulnerable populations in conflict-affected areas in Myanma, through ag + livelihoods assistance.
Building resilience (climate action + climate financing)
Working with countries in the Indo-pacific to support development of a range of renewable technologies as well as support for improved energy efficiency.

Investing in the Pacific Resilience Facility which is a Pacific-led solutions to the region’s climate finance access challenge. Eventually become self-sufficient.
Humanitarian
Aus is fast to act to save lives when disaster strikes in which they invest in preventing crises and work to reduce disaster risk + promote preparedness. There are emergency stores in govs 4 warehouses that are effectively managed + deployed when needed.
