In cases of homicide, who takes VIS and what is the time period in which it should be obtained within.
Homicide trained victim support volunteers are trained to assist with taking VIS from surviving family members.
The VIS should be no older than 28 days at the time of sentencing.

Explain a common approach path.
Common approach paths are a route in and out of the scene that all staff/civilians are to use.
This path will be a route that avoids any route taken to and from the scene by the suspect or victim.
It is best to consider possible approach paths previously and establish a common approach path early to prevent loss of evidence or cross contamination.
Three things OC body must do before handing exhibits to OC exhibits.
Package, label and seal exhibits before leaving the mortuary without exception.
Record exhibits in a scene exhibit schedule.
Provide OC exhibits with the exhibits, scene exhibit schedule, notebook entries and their statement.
When the crown solicitor directs Police to interview alibi witnesses what actions should Police take.

Describe the chain of custody.
The chain of custody includes every individual who has custody of the exhibit from the time it was first discovered to the time it is produced in court.
It is used to demonstrate the integrity, and therefore admissibility of the exhibit.
Why is it important to conduct an area canvass at the same time as offence.
To capture people who regularly pass through that area at that time of the day.
