You will have a written accent ( ‘ ) on the syllable that is stressed.
fácil - easy
difícil - difficult
What does it mean when a one syllable word has a written accent ( ‘ ) mark?
It means that there is another word w/ the same spelling, but a different meaning.

What does it mean when a two syllable word has a written accent ( ‘ ) mark?
It means that there is another word w/ the same spelling, but a different meaning.

What happens to a noun or adjective that ends in z when changed to its plural form?
Ex: la nariz (nose)
The ending of the noun or adjective changes from ending in z to c and then add es
Ex: la nariz to la narices (noses)
What happens to the letter z of a word that’s followed by a or o?
The z is changed to a c before e or i. The sound of z and c are the same.
Ex: comienza to comience
Ex: empiezo to empiece
Why is tocar (touch) changed to toque in the yo verb form?
Sometimes spelling changes occur in order to maintain a required sound. In this case, the hard c sound in tocar is preserved by changing the verb to toque for its “yo” form.
