Undermines normal need to express own needs without fear of abandonment or punishment
Similar to above, healthy child and adult needs balance, to attend to their needs too.
Subjugation, person yields to others wishes, mainly out of fear, but in self sacrifice, they try to preempt what others ned to be nice, good, more active and voluntary. Feel guilt if ever focus on own needs, feel selfish”
Approval seeking?
Inhibits ability to be authentic if only focused on others approval
Which do these other-directed schemas all frustrate?
These schemas often primarily related to disconnection rejection, other directedness is way they COPE! Eg fear abuse so develop subjugation. Need for all humans to freely express their own needs and emotions without undue fear. Feel they have to put needs of others before own, due to fear, responsibility, desperation for approval.
