SELFISH AMBITION
A
- leader is not willing to put “we” before “me”
- people are protective of their ministry, but fail to buy into the greater team concept
- results in independent study that will destroy any attempts to build a team ministry
- Leader will have to help their participants see the greater benefits of team
- Suggestion - have team read book on team ministry and discuss personal thoughts

PERSONAL APATHY
A
- team member is unwilling to be held accountable to the team
- they become indifferent to the idea of team ministry
- leaders need to be consistent in communicating the biblical mission and vision of the church
- in severe cases, individual might need to be removed from team

CONFLICTING PERSONALITIES
A
- When team members are unwilling to work together in the spirit of collaboration
- chose instead to engage in destructive personal conflict or ignore others all together
- may withdrawal emotionally, socially and at times physically in order to avoid tension and perceived personal conflict
- help team members to recognize the value of supporting one another and constructively working on their areas of disagreement

CONFLICTING OBJECTIVES
A
- Tensions that arise out of disagreements over team objectives
- when individuals are more focused on personal agendas rather than the team dynamic as a whole, the ministry is threatened
- focus on the things that the team agrees on as core convictions and build a level of personal commitment around those issues
- conflicting agendas can be communicated and evaluated on the basis of what is best for the church and the rest of the team
