Q

what did the duma do in reaction to the failing of the war?

A

-in july 1915 they were allowed by the tsar to reassemble
-they then asked if they could replace his cabinet in the duma and when the tsar refused to create the “ministry of national confidence” 236/422 of the duma deputies formed the progressive bloc which was intended to avoid revolution in order to allow the government to finish the war
-the tsar saw them as an enemy and refused to work with them
-this then became a source of political resistance
