Ban Jayoo Matsoki: A way of sparring that is a little more advanced than just three step. Involved three consecutive attacks and blocks with a counter attack.

Yul-Gok: -moves: 38 -Meaning: Yul-Gok is the pseudonymn of the philosopher nicknamed ‘Confucius of Korea’. The 38 moves represent his birthplace on 38 lattitude and the diagram of the pattern represents ‘scholar’.

Pattern Joong-gun: -Move count -meaning
Joong-gun: -32 moves -Meaning: Named after patriot Ahn Joong-Gun who in 1909 assassinated Hiro-Bumi Ito, the previous Japanese governor-general of Korea at Harbin railway station. He also played a leading role in the Korea-Japan merger. The 32 moves represent the age at which Ahn Joong-Gun was executed in Lui-Shung prison (1910). The execution weapon was a chinese pistol.

Pattern Toi-Gye move count and meaning
Toi-Gye is the pen name of the noted scholar Yi Hwang of the 16th century who was an authority on neo-confucionism. Neo-confucionism took roots from confucionism, taoism and buddism but focused more on the importance of an individuals ethics and morality to build a harmonious and peaceful society, made in response to the popularity of spiritual schools of thought like buddism around the time. There are 37 movements in the pattern, which respent Yi Hwang’s birthplace on the 37th lattitude.
