Q

Takeoff - Engine Failure after V1

A

RATT BAT LCAN

@400ft
R: Roll mode (Heading or LNAV)
A: A/Ts off
T: Tower call and declare emergency
T: Trim rudder

@1000ft
B: Bug flaps 1 speed
A: APU turn on
T: Trim rudder

@Flaps 1 speed
L: LVL change
C: CONT thrust (MCT)
A: After takeoff checklist
N: Non Normal Checklist (Engine failure or fire in QRH)

Engine FIRE, severe damage or separation require memory items. Just an engine failure with no other issues has no memory items.

@ Level Off
- Reduce thrust to maintain desired speed (you are the A/Ts)
- Coordinate rudder with thrust change (so A/P doesn’t kick off)
- Trim
- Engage A/P once trimmed

Q

Missed Approach

A

PF:
- “GO AROUND, FLAPS 15”
- Push thrust up if A/T not engaged
- Pitch to follow F/D guidance

  • “POSITIVE RATE”
  • “GEAR UP”
  • “TOGA VERIFIED” on the FMA pitch roll
  • Verify missed altitude is set

@400ft
- Verify or call for roll mode

@1000ft
- “FLAPS 5, STAY IN TOGA” and retract on schedule
- Verify correct speed is bugged
- AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST

Windshear After Liftoff

A

PF:
- Disconnect A/P
- Disconnect A/T
- Press either TO/GA switch
- Aggressively apply maximum thrust
- Ensure speed brakes are down
- Rolls wings level and pitch up to initially 15˚ pitch attitude
- Follow fight director TO/GA guidance (if available)

  • Do not change flap or gear configuration until windshear no longer a factor
  • Monitor vertical speed and altitude
  • Do not attempt to regain lost airspeed until windshear is no longer a factor
  • After takeoff checklist

PM:
- Assure max thrust
- Verify all required actions have been completed
- Advise when windshear guidance is activated (only in reactive windshear, ie “WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR”)
- PM: “GUIDANCE AVAILABLE”
- Monitor vertical speed and altitude
- Call out any trend toward terrain contact, descending flight path or significant airspeed changes
- Give ATC a PIREP
- Complete After Takeoff Checklist
