- 3:1
- 3-4 myeloid line cells for every erythroid line cell.
- differences in this ratio will lead you to different disease pathways ( increased: chronic myeloid leukemia
decreased: acute/chronic hemolysis)

A
- posterior superior iliac crest

What are the indications for a bone marrow biopsy?
A
- Dx and staging of hematologic diseases
- assess bone marrow cellularity
- assess cellular morphology and maturation
- monitoring chemotherapy in leukemias
- cytogenic immunophenotypic and molecular analyses can be done
NOT for DM assessment
