What are the indications for a bone marrow biopsy?

A

Dx and staging of hematologic diseases
assess bone marrow cellularity
assess cellular morphology and maturation
monitoring chemotherapy in leukemias
cytogenic immunophenotypic and molecular analyses can be done
NOT for DM assessment
