a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protract/ed one ; a serious incompatibility between two or more options or interests

advantage : petitions are easy to conduct and easy to support, online petitions can also reach large numbers of people and gain awareness on the issue
disadvantages : people sign petitions with little knowledge on the issue and meetings can be poorly attended

advantages : gains free media and attention brings the issue to public eye
disadvantage : small groups may have little impacts and it can require significant preparation and organisation
