A

Trotsky, Kamenev and Zinoviev wanted to abandon the New Economic Policy as its directly contradicted the Bolshevik Ideology.

Bukharin, Tomsky and Rykov supported the NEP and it’s establishment of private businesses.

A

This was the idea that Russia should actively encourage the spread of communism globally. This was Trotsky’s belief.

A

Stalin, Kamenev and Zinoviev did not support Lenin’s statements in the in his testament due to the criticisms he had made about each of them.

Therefore, they managed to convince their colleagues not to print the testament.

A

What sequence of events increased Stalin’s power in the Party?

A

October 1924: Stalin publically refers to Trotsky’s Correspondence of 1913 as backwards to the Russian Workers Movements

1925: Trotsky resigns from Commissar of War

14th Party Conference: Kamenev and Zinoviev oppose the reduction of Grain Tax and the idea of making it easier to lease land

15th Party Conference: Endorsed the idea of Socialism in One Country. Trotsky, Kamenev and Zinoviev were removed from the Politburo.

December 1927: Trotsky, Kamenev and Zinoviev were expelled from the Executive Committee

1928: The NEP is ended

Feb 1929: Bukharin, Kamenev and Zinoviev were accused of plotting against Stalin and were forced to leave the party
