What were the events of the October Revolution?
- 24th Oct: The Military Revolutionary Committee (MRC) (Bolshevik’s Army) attack the Provisional Government
- The soldiers defending the PG did little to stop the attack with many siding with the Bolsheviks
- Following Trotsky’s plans, the MRC occupied important post offices and train stations, giving the Bolsheviks control over the infrastructure of Petrograd
- 25th Oct: Bolsheviks announce themselves as the new Government as Kerensky (leader of PG) had fled for his life
What did Lenin lie about to the Social Revolutionaries and Mensheviks about the October revolution?
He had promised to give power to all members of the Soviets but after seizing control from the PG, he did not share his power.

The new government headed by Lenin to replace the Provisional Government

He was figurehead and leader of the Bolshevik revolution.
