Climate
The average weather measured over a period of thirty years
High latitude
The distance from the equator expressed in degrees in which the distance lies above the 60th degree north or south
Continental climate
Climate with a major difference between summer and winter temperatures
Desert climate
Climate with normally high temperatures and almost no precipitation
Low latitude
The distance from the equator expressed in degrees in which the distance lies below the 30th degree North or South
(High) mountain climate
Temperature never rises above 0 C; this climate is high in the mountains
Polar climate
Climate where the temperatures are nearly always below zero with snow or ice
Temperate sea climate
Climate in which the difference between summer and winter temperatures are temperate and there is precipitation throughout the year
Savanna climate
A climate in which the average monthly temperature = higher than 18 C and there is a dry and a wet season
Steppe climate
Climate with high temperatures and little precipitation that limits the vegetation to grass
Tundra climate
Climate in which the temperature does not rise above 10 C, even during summer
Tropical rainforest climate
A climate in which the average monthly temperature is higher than 18 C and there is precipitation throughout the year
