Lava is formed when the rock of the ocean floor is pushed down into the mantle and becomes so hot that it melts

How do you explain a mid-ocean ridge?
2 parts of the ocean floor are pulled apart. This creates a crack in the ocean’s crust which is filled with red-hot rock which solidifies
