301i Flashcards
List 5 basic components of an electrically controlled hydraulic system.
Reservoir
Pump
Relief valve
Directional control valve
Double acting cylinder
What amount of voltage does an electrical control system receive?
Full battery voltage
What 3 devices are considered “circuit overload protection” devices?
Circuit breakers, fuses, and fusible links
These devices open the electrical circuit and interrupt the current flow to prevent overheating in the components
What are operator control switch’s and what do they do?
They apply voltage to the relay, they can be toggle, rocker, push button or rotary type switches
They are momentary switches which means they are closed until operator presses the buttom
What are solenoids?
They are used to create the force required to operate hyd valves
Electric solinoids are either ON or OFF which means they don’t offer feathering
Either full go or no go
What are clamping diodes?
They are used to dissipate the current flow created by induced voltage in the solenoid when switch is open
This prevents arching damage to the relay.
