What is the barrel?
Is the tube typically made of metal. The bullet or shot travels down this tube when the firearm is fired
What is a data stamp and where is it found?
It a stamp on the barrel that shows the cartridge information required
What is the muzzel?
The opening at the end of the barrel where the shot emerges from
What is the action?
contains the parts that do the following: Chamber the cartridge, fire the ammunition, and ejects the unfired cartridges and casings
What is the trigger?
It relased the hammer or firing pin that fires the cartridge.
What is the trigger guard?
It is a rigid loop around the trigger made to protect it and prevent anything from unintentionally touching it
What are the safeties?
usually block some part of the action to prevent firing (some do not have safeties)
The safety should be on until required to shoot
What is the magazine?
hols the cartridges in repeating firearms. It can either be fixed or removable.
What is the stock?
The stock is the handle of the firearm. They are designed to automatically align your finger with the trigger when you pick up the firearm.
What is the firing sequence?
pull the trigger causing the firing pin to strike the primer, primer explodes, projects a flame into the cartridge body, the flame ignites the powder, powder burns and produces rapidly expanding gases, the high-pressure gas drives the bullet down the barrel
What are the 6 basic types of non-restricted firearms
muzzleloaders, hinge (or break action), bolt action, lever action, pump action, and semi-automatic action
List three major parts of a non-restricted firearm?
Action, Barrel, and Stock
What are the two common types of non-restricted firearms
Shotgun and Rifle

non-restricted, restricted, and prohibitated
