Q

What claim did Henry have to the throne?

A

Henry Tudor did not claim the throne by blood but by conquest. This was because his connection to the royal dynasty was weak – he was descended from the Beauforts, who had originally been a legitimate descendants of Edward III, but were later made legitimate. On the other side, he was a
descendent of Henry V’s widow.

What was the impact of the Battle of Bosworth?

A

-No longer a figurehead for the Yorkist side to rally around Richard had no surviving son and heir.
-Gave the impression that Henry Tudor’s victory had been blessed by God.

-Many other nobles had stayed on the sidelines and refused to fight, perhaps under a quarter, showing
