3. blood groups of domestic animals Flashcards

1
Q

what are the 3 main differences between human blood cells and animals?

A
  1. in animals there are no antibodies
  2. in animals in many cases blood group antigens appear at the plasma and decreasing the chance of hemolysis of RBC

Q

what is the method for determining the cattle blood group?

A

hemolysis method:

  1. RBC mixed with monovalent test serum + guinea pig or rabbit blood serum that contains complent factors
  2. positive reaction: antigen-antibody complex is formed-> lysis of the RBC
negative: RBC settle to the bottom of the test tube
