3-23.3 Flashcards
What is Operational Technology?
A broad term refers to the use of technology and the operation and monitoring of physical processes. Embedded systems, Industrial control system (ICS), and supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA), along with other technologies are used to manage and optimize operational processes in industrial settings.
What are the three components in embedded sytems?
Closed loop components. They are System-on-a-chip (IC that incorporates all functions), Real-Time OS, and Application Software.
What are some components of ICS (Industrial Control Systems)?
Sensors collect data, controllers process data and determine the actions for the actuators, Actuators execute action, and human interfaces provide graphical representation and real time data/monitoring capabilities.
What are SCADA systems?
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems. ICS subset designed for the monitoring control of industrial processes, infrastructure and facilities in real time.
