3:1 transposition Flashcards
Transposition by scale degree
Label each note with the scale degree of its original key and then perform or write the same pattern in a different key.
Transposition by interval
- Transpose everything by the interval difference between the two keys
- Transpose based on the melodic intervals between each note in the original key
Transposition by change of key signature
This works when the notes don’t need to change but the key signature does: G Maj to Gb Maj
